System Architect
Qamcom is growing, and we are looking for a talented System Architect to join our office in Stockholm!
Qamcom Research and Technology is an innovation hub specializing in intelligent, connected systems. We offer product development and expert consulting services in areas such as sensors, radars, signal and image processing, embedded hardware and software, multimodal AI analytics, wireless communication, edge-cloud infrastructure, and functional safety.
Our team possesses the comprehensive skills necessary to develop complete products for serial production. We can take ownership of every aspect of the development chain from the initial design to the final product.
About the role:
As a Systems Architect, you will work with experienced software and hardware engineers and algorithm specialists in our Stockholm office. You will be at the center of our projects, coordinating technical solutions across different domains and working closely with all team members. Our projects vary in size and scope, from small, fast-paced initiatives to large, multi-year developments. You should therefore be comfortable contributing hands-on to development work when needed. A background in software development is expected.
Responsibilities include:
Own the system design process and facilitate cross-team collaboration to resolve technical challenges.
Participate in all stages of development, including requirements definition, system design, prototyping, testing, and industrialization.
Work closely with customers and partners to define product functionality, make implementation choices, and address lifecycle considerations.
Who are you?
You are a team player who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys tackling new challenges. Curious and self-driven, you continuously seek to expand your expertise. You collaborate effectively across disciplines, sharing knowledge and communicating clearly. Your problem-solving mindset allows you to navigate complex technical landscapes, balancing trade-offs to achieve the best system design. While taking on broader responsibilities, you remain hands-on and actively contribute to coding and technical implementation.
Required Qualifications
Higher education within Software, Electronics or related technical field with 6+ years of experience working as a Systems Architect, Systems Engineer or in a similar cross-functional role, spanning hardware and software domains
Solid foundation in software development
Strong understanding of systems design/engineering principles, including requirements engineering and change management, and engineering trade-offs across hardware, software, and algorithms.
Ability to balance technical, business, and operational constraints when defining system architectures and solutions.
Experience in end-to-end product development, including early-phase concept work, system architecture, integration, and verification/validation.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. RF, embedded, FPGA, cloud, or AI/ML) and driving alignment across domains.
Familiarity with project planning and technical leadership, including estimation, prioritization, and stakeholder communication.
Experience with CI/CD processes.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Valid Swedish work permit.
Meriting:
Hands-on experience with relevant industry standards (e.g., functional safety or MedTech).
Experience with sensor systems such as Radar, Lidar, Cameras (or other optical systems), or IoT devices.
Knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms and frameworks.
Working proficiency in Swedish.
